Meet Jason Flowers

Jason Flowers is the head Men's basketball coach at Los Angeles City College, restarting the program after being dormant for over a decade. Flowers began his coaching career as the Academic Advisor and Volunteer Assistant Coach for the UCLA men’s basketball team following his playing career with the Bruins from 1999 – 2001.  Since then, his coaching resume has grown, with assistant and head coaching positions at Long Beach St., UC Riverside, Cal State Univ. Northridge, and the Director of Player Development at Cal Baptist Univ. Jason was also asked to be the Court Coach for the USA Junior National Team in 2015. Jason’s coaching passion is to create the most positive experience for his student athletes – and as one of the early adopters of Ecsell Sports work, he truly walks the talk.

Jason’s coaching strength runs through his family. Flowers is married to Tairia Flowers, the head softball coach at Loyola Marymount University. Tairia was a member of the United States National Team (2001-08), won a gold medal as a member of the 2004 U.S. Olympic softball team in Athens (Greece) and a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Games. She was also an assistant coach for the silver medal U.S. Women’s Softball team in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic games. The couple has three children: daughters Jasmine and Tristyn, and son, Jayce.
